Ada hires Lima Senior coach for boys' basketball
FROM ADA ICON - Ada Board of Education hired Vince Halliday as its new head boys' basketball coach in a special meeting last night.
He replaces Jon Cook who was hired in October, 2020, as varsity boys' coach following the resignation of Drew White earlier in October. White coached at Ada for three seasons.
Halliday brings with him many years of basketball coaching experience. He has spent the past 14 seasons as the head coach of the girls' basketball program at Lima Senior, where he is a teacher. He leaves the Lady Spartans as the career leader in coaching wins.
"Halliday is a strong leader with much head coaching experience," said Eric Perkins, Ada athletic director.
"He will bring enthusiasm and excitement to the Ada basketball program. Coach Halliday embraces the dual challenges of building a successful program on the court and using basketball to help develop outstanding young men.
"We look forward to having Coach Halliday meet our players in the near future and starting his work with them."
