Jack Hamel was an instructor at University of Northwestern Ohio
John "Jack" T. Hamel, 71, died May 5, 2021, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Jack was born April 1, 1950, in Lima to the late Harold and Jeanette (Ricker) Hamel. On Dec. 9, 1972, he married Rebecca Walls Hamel who survives.
Jack was a 1968 graduate of Ft. Jennings High School. He graduated from Nashville Auto & Diesel College and then he received his bachelor's degree in vocational education from the University of Toledo.
Jack was an instructor at UNOH where he help start the welding program. After retirement, he was driving semi for Niese Trucking, Ottawa. Jack was a member of the Gold Wing Road Rider's Association, Lima, and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Columbus Grove.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Hamel of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Christina (Chad) Dunlap of Columbus Grove, Nicole (Steve) Goedde of Columbus Grove; five grandchildren, Marissa (Ryan) Heckel, Malerie Baldazzo, Braden Dunlap, Jarid Goedde, Ashli Goedde; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Liam Heckel; four brothers, Don Hamel of Shaker Hts., Bob (Barb) Hamel of Ft. Jennings, Mike (Jean) Hamel of Glandorf, Jim Hamel of Middlepoint and three sisters, Ann Hamel of Indianapolis, Doris (Mike) Nichols of Ft. Jennings, Sandy (Tri) Vo of Columbus.
Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Pascal.
There will be no service at this time.
