Jerry Yoakam worked at McIntosh Industries and Cold Metal Products
Gerald "Jerry" Duane Yoakam, 84, died May 11, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System. Jerry was born Feb. 20, 193,7 in Bluffton to the late Jesse and Lillian (Kennel) Yoakam. On June 7, 1958 he married Rachel DeVier Yoakam who preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2014.
Jerry graduated from Bluffton High School. He was a mechanic at several garages and then later became a skilled maintenance at McIntosh Industries, Bluffton and Cold Metal Products in Ottawa. Jerry was a member of the Lakeview Moose Club and the Bluffton Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and crafts with his wife, radio controlled airplanes, camping and fishing.
Survivors include three children, Kathie (Michael) Amstutz of Bluffton, Kenneth (Cathy) Yoakam of Bluffton, Kevin (Heather) Yoakam of Berea, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Shirley) Yoakam of Pickerington, Ohio, and a sister, Janet (David) Blank of Bluffton.
Private memorial services will be held.
