Interested in gardening, but don't have room in your yard?
Gardeners of the Bluffton/Pandora Area (GBPA) invite community members to sign-up for a large or small garden plot on the club’s community garden located at 9900 S. Main St., Bluffton, according to Victoria Goddard, club president.
“Our large plots are 20-by-60 feet,” she said. “The plots have all been tilled and are ready for planting and we have around four or five this size remaining.”
“Due to some spring weather challenges, this week we’ve finally prepared each of our “discovery” 4-by-8-foot plots. They are now available to persons to start planting.
She said that the discovery plots come with a variety of seeds, plants and planting advice.
Both plot sizes are just $10 for the season.
Goddard said, “Since our garden area is all full sun, the discovery plots are available to cover a large variety of needs.
“Not too sure what you're doing? Snag some of the seeds and plants that we already know do well for beginners. Or maybe you know what you are doing, but want to experiment with growing something different. Please spread the word that we have some discovery plots available.”
Scheduled planting times for the discovery plots with seeds and plants for those that have reserved a plot are at the following times:
• Wednesday and Thursday evenings – 6 to 8 p.m.
• Saturday – 8 to 10 a.m.
• Memorial Day Monday 6 to 8 p.m.
