Pirate spikers sting Hornets
The visiting Bluffton volleyball team swept local non-league rival Cory-Rawson in three sets Thursday night, September 9.
The Pirate girls improved to 5-2 with the 25-7, 25-15, 25-14 win, while C-R falls to 1-5 with the defeat.
Senior middle hitter Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirates with 12 kills and three blocks.
Bluffton senior setter Skyler Scoles dished out 13 assists and served up six aces.
Olivia Hobensack contributed six assists, one block and three aces.
Senior Sophie Bricker mustered eight digs, while classmate Kylie Monday came up with with six digs and five kills.
Senior Haelynn Bischoff and freshman Ayla Grande each made one block.
The Bluffton JV also won, 2-0.
The Pirate girls entertain BVC foe North Baltimore (4-4) on Monday, Sept. 13. Bluffton then hosts county rival LCC Sept. 14.
