Scots 4-1 victory over men's soccer
The Bluffton University men's soccer team traveled east across US 30 to the College of Wooster on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. The Fighting Scots had too much firepower as the home team improved to 6-2 with a 4-1 victory over the Beavers. Bluffton fell to 3-2 on the season.
Wooster went up 1-0 at the 5:07 mark when Luca Napora connected with Alex Pollitt for his first goal of the season. Bluffton responded in minute 13 when senior stalwart Dalton Taynor (Troy/Miami East) intercepted a Wooster pass and made the home team pay with his team-leading 7th goal of the season.
With 10 minutes to play in the opening stanza, Pollitt was on the receiving end and he delivered what would be the game winner with 55 minutes to play. Max Hill scored twice early in the second half en route to the 4-1 victory over Bluffton on Tuesday evening.
Bluffton came up on the wrong end of a 30-6 margin for shots. Wooster put nine on frame, six more than the Beavers. Both teams committed 10 fouls and Wooster forged a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior keeper Steven Liptak (Uniontown/Hoover) racked up five saves for the visitors. Taynor and Elijah Zimmerman (Archbold) equally split Bluffton's six shots.
The Beavers will head west on Saturday when they meet up with Moody Bible College at 3 p.m. in Chicago, Ill.
