Pirate girls spike Bearcats
The visiting Bluffton volleyball team defeated Spencerville 3-1 in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening, October 5.
The Lady Pirate record improved to 12-7 overall and 3-3 in the NWC with the 27-25, 26-28, 25-13, 25-14 victory.
The Bearcats fell to 10-7 overall and 1-5 in the NWC with the defeat.
Senior Kylie Stackhouse topped Bluffton with 26 kills and two blocks. She also served up a pair of aces. Freshman Ayla Grandey contributed seven kills and one block.
Senior setter Skyler Scoles passed out 39 assists and added a block to go with nine digs.
Senior Sophie Bricker led the team with 20 digs and three aces.
Haelynn Bischoff mustered a dozen digs.
Senior Kylie Monday and Avery Talavinia each dealt a pair of aces.
The Pirate girls won the JV match, 2-0.
The Lady Pirates host Columbus Grove (7-10, 2-4 NWC) Thursday, Oct. 7. Grove knocked off LCC 3-1 Tuesday.
