Jim Leiber was life-long farmer and school bus driver
James "Jim" Ray Leiber, 64, passed away October 11, 2021 at Lima Memorial Health System. Jim was born December 2, 1956 in Bluffton to the late Donald and Lola (Dangler) Leiber.
Jim graduated from Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College. He was a life-long farmer and school bus driver for Bluffton School. He and his father had owned and operated L & L Furs, Bluffton. Jim was a member of the Bluffton Sportsmen’s Club that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid card player, enjoyed going to the casino and fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.
Survivors include four daughters, Angie (Steve) Palte of Bluffton, Jamie (Mark) Fleming of Shawnee, Jenni (Aaron Davis) Leiber of Ada, Cassi Leiber of Harrod; twelve grandchildren, Steven Palte, Chelsea Palte, Katie Stewart, Stacie Clapper, Skyler Wehrly, Mark Fleming, Jordan Wehrly, Damien Wehrly, Alex Fleming, Brandon Fleming, Madison Davis, Colton McClintock, ten great-grandchildren and a sister, Cathy (Gary) Hill of Bluffton.
Jim was preceded in death by his brother, David Leiber.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton, with Ron Geiser officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that you dress casual and wear your favorite Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns or Cleveland Indians clothing.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Sportsmen’s Club.
