Engineers take down Bluffton men 5-1

The Bluffton University men's soccer team fell behind less than two minutes in as RHIT rolled to a 5-1 victory on Saturday, OCt. 23, 2021. Bluffton dipped to 7-7 overall and 3-5 in the Heartland Conference, while Rose improved to 11-4-1 and 8-0 in league play.

Senior Dalton Taynor (Troy/Miami East) provided the loan bright spot for Bluffton on Saturday, netting his 12th goal of the season midway through the second stanza! 

Rose-finished with an 18-3 edge in total shots, including 9-1 on frame. The Beavers were whistled for two more fouls (11-9).

Taynor, Elijah Zimmerman (Archbold) and Elijah Grieser (Wauseon/Pettisville) all fired shots for the visitors.

Bluffton's regular season will come to a close on Wednesday, Oct. 27, when the Beavers travel to North Manchester, Ind., for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with Manchester University. Go Beavers!

Rose-Hulman posts 4-0 victory over Bluffton

The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021. The Beavers slipped to 4-11 overall and 1-7 in the Heartland Conference following their 7th straight setback. Rose improved to 10-2-2 and 6-1-1 in the HCAC.

Bluffton fell behind 3-0 in the opening stanza as the Engineers piled up a 9-1 advantage in shots during the first 45 minutes. Rose tacked on another score for good measure in minute 55 as the home team netted a 4-0 shutout on Saturday afternoon.

The Engineers finished with an 18-1 advantage in shots and 2-0 on corner kicks. Rose was whistled for two more fouls (11-9).

Freshman Evie Masters (Arcadia/Van Buren) fired the only shot for Bluffton in Terre Haute. Brielle Collier (Anna) turned away six RHIT attempts.

Bluffton will wrap up its 2021 fall slate on Wednesday, Oct. 27, when the Beavers welcome Manchester University to the Sears Complex. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. Come out and support your Beavers!
