Charles J. Burris was a retired U.S. Marine
Charles J. Burris, 66, passed away October 28, 2021 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Charles was born December 18, 1954 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Don and Tresa (Morrison) Burris.
Charles was retired from the United States Marines Corp where he served with the Military Police. After retirement, he worked in retail security at various businesses.
Survivors include seven children, Christopher (Julie) Burris of Lima, Cory (Lindsay) Burris of Lima, Heather Burris, Craig Burris of Columbus Grove, Jenna Burris of Versailles, Andrew Burris of Versailles, Paige Burris of Norfolk, Virginia; several grandchildren and three brothers, Don Burris of Bluffton, Michael (Mary) Burris of Bluffton, and Bob (Sheryl) Burris of Rushville, Ohio.
Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Nussbaum.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
