About Healthwise childrens' COVID vaccination appointments
Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy, 511 W Lincoln Ave, Ada, reminds families that they need to make an appointment for COVID-19 vaccinations on campus for children ages 5-11.
Parents can sign up their child to receive the Pfizer pediatric COVID vaccine by going to https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/
If you do not see available appointments, please check back the next day. Appointments are posted two weeks ahead of time.
Vaccines are being administered in the Skills Lab across from the ONU HealthWise pharmacy in the pharmacy building, located at 511 W. Lincoln Ave. Please bring with you the child's insurance card and identification (if applicable). A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child and sign a consent form. A private room will be available. If you would like to complete the form ahead of time, it is available online at HealthWise Pharmacy’s webpage.
ONU pharmacy students, faculty and staff have collaborated with the Nursing Program to make this vaccination experience as positive as possible for children and their caregivers. Service dogs for petting and coloring activities are among the special features at childrens' appointments.
If you have any questions or issues signing up for an appointment, please call HealthWise Pharmacy at 419-772-3784.
HealthWise Mobile Clinic has not scheduled pediatric COVID-19 clinics at this time, but caregivers can call the campus pharmacy if they would like to schedule one for when the mobile clinic will visit their area.
HealthWise Pharmacy is also offering seasonal flu shots, boosters and initial single or two-dose COVID-19 vaccines of all three pharmaceutical brands at the campus pharmacy from 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk-ins and scheduled appointments are welcome. The pharmacy’s hours will change for the upcoming holiday. It will be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 25, and will not be offering vaccines or flu shots on Friday. Normal hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 29.
