Bluffton boys ground Rockets; win streak reaches 13
The streaking Bluffton High School boys basketball team defeated visiting neighbors Pandora-Gilboa 55-45 in a non-league battle Saturday night, January 29.
The Pirates improved to 14-1 with their 13th consecutive victory. Bluffton has not lost since Dec. 4 at Liberty-Benton.
Kyler Kinn led Bluffton with 22 points, 13 of which were tallied in the second half.
Trenton Donley contributed 15 markers, with 10 coming after intermission.
Bluffton trailed 14-10 after the first period, but rallied to lead 22-19 at halftime. The Pirates extended the lead to 35-28 after the third quarter
Bluffton converted eight of nine foul shots in the fourth period to win the stanza, 20-17. They outscored the Rockets 33-26 in the second half.
Carson Soper added nine points on seven of eight free throw shooting.
P-G fell to 12-5 with the defeat.
Aiden Harris topped P-G with 13 points.
Bluffton knocked down 17 field goals, hitting 13 two-pointers while splashing four treys. The Pirates converted 17 of 22 attempts at the charity stripe (77 percent).
The Rockets canned 15 baskets. P-G sank 11 two-pointers and matched Blufton's four triples. They converted 11 of 16 at the foul line (69 percent).
Bluffton committed just six turnovers, while the Rockets made eight miscues.
