Bluffton hosts NWC wresting tourney on February 18
The Northwest Conference wrestling tournament will be hosted by Bluffton High School, 106 W. College Ave., beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 18.
Entered in the tournament are 80 high school wrestlers and 62 junior high wrestlers. The high school tournament will be in the Bluffton High School gym, and the Junior High tournament will be in the auxillary gym.
The field includes state runner-up 285# Eli Criblez, 11, Allen East (undefeated at 34-0).
Other 2021 state qualifiers include 150# Kade Wireman, 11, Allen East, 165# Chase Miller, 12, Allen East, 175# Kaden Basil, 12, Bluffton and 215# Alek Winner, 12, Allen East.
Seven wrestlers will defend 2021 NWC titles, including 120# Hunter Sidle, 11, Allen East, 144# Trenton Gatchell, 10, Allen East, also 144# Anthony Bodine, 12, Jefferson, 150# Kade Wireman, Allen East, 165# Chase Miller, Allen East, 175# Gage Wireman, 11, Allen East and 215# Alek Winner, Allen East.
The entry grid and seed nominations are posted on www.baumspage.com. Brackets and results will be available and posted throughout the tournament, as will final results at the conclusion of the tournament.
