Bluffton girls win Pirate battle in sectionals
The Bluffton High School girls basketball team soundly defeated Continental 65-30 in girls sectional first round action on the campus of Bluffton University Thursday night, February 17.
Bluffton improved to 16-6 overall with the lopsided victory, which advanced them to the sectional finals. Continental ended its season 2-19 with the defeat.
Freshman post Ayla Grandey led the victors with 23 points and nine rebounds.
The winning Pirates will face the winner between fifth seed Kalida and Ft. Jennings Monday, Feb. 21 in the sectional finals.
The Kalida/FJ game was postponed from Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. on the BU campus. The sectional final victor advances to the Van Wert district semifinals Feb. 24.
