Gloria "Joyce" Hauenstein was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary
Joyce was born June 2, 1926 in Bluffton, to Charles and Dorothy (Alstaetter) Young who preceded her in death. On March 19, 1948 she married Richard Hauenstein who preceded her in death on March 15, 2012.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and bowled in a league for Hauenstein Plumbing and Heating. She loved to craft, garage sale, thrift shop, bake and cook, and visit the Amish country. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons; Thomas (Teri) Hauenstein of Bluffton, Jeff (Laura) Hauenstein of Findlay, and Todd (Lori) Hauenstein of Napoleon, four grandchildren; Adam (Desiree) Hauenstein, Alyssa (Eric) Lehman, Robert (Aimee Cochran) DeVaul, and Joseph (Elizabeth LaPrad) DeVaul, and eight great grandchildren; Lennon Hauenstein, Wyatt, Hadley, and Oliver Lehman, Dravin, Carolyna, Mason, and Renzo DeVaul.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings; Robert Young, Margret Core, Janet Matter, Lou Cookson, and Peggy Bowyer.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Pastors Mike Noggle and Kelly Sterling to officiate the service. Burial will take place at later date. Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
