Holy Week schedule for Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jenera
Palm Sunday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, will be celebrated in both the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. services, with Bible Classes for all ages beginning at 9:20 a.m.
The theme is " His Humility, Our Hope" based on Isaiah 42:1-4. The Psalm is Psalm 24 and the hymns are "Ride On, Ride On in Majesty" and "All Glory, Laud and Honor." The children and Choir will sing "Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the Lord."
Maundy Thursday's service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on April 14. The theme is "His Food, Our Fill" based on 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 and Luke 22:7-20, with the Psalm being Psalm 116. Hymns are "When You Woke that Thursday Morning" and "Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Savior." The Choir will sing "The Upper Room."
The Good Friday service, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on April 15, will have the theme "His Punishment, Our Peace" based on Luke 23, John 19 and Matthew 27. The Psalm is Psalm 22 and hymns are "Jesus, I Will Ponder Now" and "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded." The Choir will sing "In Pilate's Hall."
Easter Sunrise Service will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 17. "Life Marches Victorious Over Death" will be the theme based on 1 Corinthians 15:51-57 and the Psalm is Psalm 118. Victory hymns are "Alleluia! Jesus Lives" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and the Choir will sing "We Will Carol Joyfully."
A free Easter Breakfast will be served in the school's multipurpose room from 7:30-9:00 a.m.
The Festival Easter Service will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be similar to the Sunrise Service. All are welcome to attend the services and Easter Breakfast. The services are live streamed and archived at www.tlcjenera.org
