Bluffton girls squash Ottoville

The Bluffton High School varsity softball team lambasted visiting non-league foe Ottoville 16-1 Wednesday evening, April 27.
The Pirate girls improved to 7-5 with the victory. Bluffton has won seven of its last eight games.
The Big Green fell to 1-9 with the defeat.
Ottoville scored its run in the top of the first frame, but Bluffton scored in all four of its at bats to win going away.
The Pirate girls plated two in the first inning, five in the second and six in the third. They added three more runs in the fourth.
Pirate hurler Hannah Davis earned her seventh win. She lowered her season earned run average to 2.37 with the five-inning, five-hit effort. She also singled.
Lauren Swartzlander drove in three runs with two hits. Senior catcher Sophie Bricker knocked in a run with two hits.
Riley Busch collected three RBI and had one hit. Dyllan Worcester also knocked in three runs with one hit. Faith Maple added a single.
Alivia Balbaugh singled in the lone Ottoville run in the first inning. Paige Meyer contributed two hits.
Bluffton out-hit the Big Green 8-5. Ottoville made three errors to one miscue by the Pirates.

Bluffton (2-1 NWC) visits Spencerville (3-11, 0-4 NWC) Thursday. The Pirates play Delphos Jefferson (3-8, 1-2 NWC) Friday in a league makeup game Friday.
The postponed game vs. defending Northwest Conference champion Lincolnview (11-2, 3-1 NWC) is rescheduled for Saturday, April 30.
