Jerry Lynn Bassett worked for Elevator Services
Jerry Lynn Bassett, 59, passed away May 18, 2022, at his residence. Jerry was born October 27, 1962 in Lima to the late Robert and Ruth (Thomas) Bassett.
Jerry graduated from Bath High School and worked at Elevator Services in Beaverdam. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. Jerry was a jack-of-all trades especially when he was working with metal. He was known for his stubbornness, his willingness to help anyone and his "Jerry-isms." Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Mindy (Kyle) Geesaman and Chelsey Bassett both of Bluffton; a son, Tyler (Ashley) Morris of Hendersonville, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Rylee, Karlee, Carter, Caydence and Rebelle; three brothers, Michael (Marty) Bassett of Lima, Keith (Dar) Bassett of Delphos, Bobby (Becky) Bassett of Wapakoneta; fiancée, Vicki Ewing of Lima and his beloved dog, Gizmo.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Bassett.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton with Pastor Glory Geib officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
