Message from Coach Verb:
The first day of the 2022 summer swim season is less than a week away (Tuesday, March 31, 2022). A few notes before we get into the season.
Practice Schedule:
The first week of swim practice will follow the following schedule
Tuesdays and Fridays:
Silver 8:30-9:30 am
Gold 9:30-11:00 am
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
Silver 8:00-9:00 am
Bronze 9:00-9:45 am
Gold 9:45-11:00 am
No Monday practice next week due to Memorial Day.
Bronze Group (8 & Under Swimmers)
Silver Group (9 -12 year old swimmers)
Gold Group (13 and over, along with some of the younger advanced swimmers)
If you have questions or would like to discuss which group your swimmer should be in please do not hesitate to inquire with me. We will spend much of the first week shuffling swimmers around and determining where we hope they will be the most successful.
Practice Notes:
Water and Air Temperature: The morning air temperature and, often, the water temperature can be challenging at the start of the outdoor season. Please encourage your swimmers to keep moving. Be certain they have warm towels, jackets, robes, and/or parkas for those challenging mornings.
Equipment:
Please make certain that your swimmers have their suits, goggles, and caps at a minimum. Backups of these items are beneficial to carry in their bags. If your swimmers have additional equipment please have them bring it. Especially if young swimmers happen to have swim fins.
Practice Delays, Rescheduling, and Cancellations:
Weather-related issues with practice are always a challenge during the summer months. Cold air or storm-related events are the most typical culprits to practice cancellation or reshuffling. We will attempt to provide you with advanced notice whenever we are able to via email and text notifications. Hopefully, we will not have many of these, but they are likely to occur from time to time.
Let me know if you have any questions. The coaching staff and I are looking forward to an exciting summer of swimming.
Coach Bob Verb
