Bluffton girls tennis nipped by Defiance
By Cort Reynolds
The Bluffton High School girls tennis team won the top two singles matches but fell 3-2 in the overall score versus Defiance on Tuesday evening, August 16.
The close defeat dropped the Pirate record to 1-2-1 this season.
Juniors Brooke Camper and Caitlyn Couch each rolled to victory in straight sets to record the Bluffton wins.
Camper defeated Alexa Ritter by the score of 6-1, 6-1 at first singles. Couch steamrolled Kaiya Snyder 6-0, 6-0 at second singles.
But Defiance bounced back to win the third singles bout and took both doubles matches, each in straight sets, to rally and win the contest.
Bluffton plays at yet another WBL rival in Bath Tuesday, August 23.
