Pirate boys 3rd at Elida Kick-off Classic

The Bluffton High boys soccer team scored late to beat Botkins 2-1 in the consolation match of the Elida Kick-off Classic tournament Saturday evening.
The Pirates improved to 1-2 with the win.
Freshman Nick Lovett scored for Bluffton at the 23:18 mark to put the Pirates ahead 1-0, and it stayed that way to halftime.
Botkins scored 3:27 into the second half to knot it up, 1-1.
Senior Nolan Hoffman then scored with 8:13 left to play to give the Pirates their first win.
Bluffton put all five of its shots on goal. Botkins mustered a dozen shots, four of which were on goal.
Junior keeper Kyle Basil made 11 saves in goal for Bluffton.
