BHS boys soccer blanks Bulldogs

The Bluffton High School boys soccer squad shut out visiting local league rival Ada 1-0 in a Northwest Conference defensive battle Monday evening at
Steinmetz Field.
The Pirates improved to 6-4-1 overall and 3-0 in the NWC with their fifth straight win and 37th consecutive league victory. The Bulldogs fell to 4-4-3 and 1-2-1 in the NWC with the defeat.
Neither team scored in the first half. Pirate Justin Good then converted a penalty kick goal at the 61:08 mark for the only score of the match.
Pirate goalkeeper Alek Davis made four saves, while Kyle Basil added two stops in goal. Ada keeper Colton Long made 10 saves.
The Pirates put 12 of their 26 shots on goal, while Ada got off seven shots, six of which were on goal.
Bluffton hosts non-league rival Riverdale (2-5-2) Saturday, October 1. They then play at conference foe Lincolnview (4-5-2, 1-1-1 NWC) Monday, Oct. 3.
