BHS volleyball falls to ranked Leipsic

The Bluffton High School varsity volleyball team was swept by visiting league foe
Leipsic in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening, September 27.
The 25-8, 25-20, 25-22 loss dropped the Bluffton record to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the NWC this season. The 15th-ranked Vikings improved to 12-3 overall and 5-1 in NWC action with the win.
Bluffton was led in kills by Ayla Grandey with nine. Kendall Stackhouse contributed seven kills.
Gracie Yarnell dished out 10 assists and came up with seven digs, plus two blocks. Olivia Hobensack passed out five assists and served three aces.
Avery Talavinia mustered up a team-best 13 digs, and also dealt a pair of aces. Olivia Sifered added three blocks.
Morgan Fruchey made seven digs and came up with three blocks.
Leipsic won the JV and freshman matches, each in straight sets.
The Pirates visit three-time defending league champion Lincolnview (10-4, 3-1 NWC) Thursday, Sept. 29.
