Mahlon Marvin Geiger was a veteran of the Korean conflict
PANDORA--Mahlon Marvin Geiger, 88, passed away October 8, 2022. Mahlon was born February 23, 1934 in Pandora to the late Monroe and Anna (Hofstetter) Geiger. He had previously been married to Phyllis Kersh and on April 22, 1989 he married Anne Balmer Geiger who survives.
Mahlon graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He retired as a Nationwide Insurance agent after 49 years and had also been a farmer. Mahlon was a member of St. John Mennonite, Pandora and enjoyed taking part in mission trips including Africa, Spain, France and Alaska. He had been a Pandora-Gilboa School Board member and always enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Geiger of Pandora; five sons, Stephen (Tauna) Geiger of Sulphur, Louisiana, Troy (Janice) Geiger of Houston, Texas, Jason (Chris) Vermillion of Arlington, Joshua (Becky) Vermillion of Carlsbad, California, Justin (Kristin) Vermillion of St. Petersburg, Florida; and eleven grandchildren, Ryan (Shannon) Geiger, James Geiger, Samantha Geiger, Tabitha Geiger, Jaret Vermillion, Jake Vermillion, Jase Vermillion, Brett Vermillion. Trevor Vermillion, Breslyn Vermillion and Casen Vermillion.
Mahlon was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Geiger and three sisters, Treva Geiger, Lois Voran and Wava Wiens.
A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora with Pastor Paul Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 and one hour prior to the service, both at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Mennonite Church.
