January 10 vehicle-pedestrian traffic crash report released
The Bluffton Police Department provided the Bluffton Icon with the following details of a January 10 Main St. traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the lane of traffic. The unit in error (vehicle or pedestrian) was unknown.
At 5:48 p.m., Douglas Cade of Rawson, driving a Silverado pickup truck, struck an unnamed juvenile pedestrian. The reporting officer noted that the vehicle “was heading south on Main St. when the pedestrian ran from the library towards the high school.”
The pedestrian was transported by Bluffton EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital with possible injury.
Contributing circumstances in the event was a “failure to yield.” Conditions at the time of the incident were dark with lighted, dry pavement. Neither the driver or pedestrian were listed as distracted.
