Joan Parker Montgomery worked at Mennonite Memorial Home
Joan Parker Montgomery, 75, passed away March 17, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center of Findlay.
Joan was born September 16, 1947 in St. Mary's, to Bernie L. and N. Jane (Rader) Parker who preceded her in death. She was married to Jerry Wieman; and on September 6, 1975 she married Gene Montgomery who survives.
Joan was a 1965 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Mary's. She was a member at Riley Creek Baptist Church and retired from Mennonite Memorial Home after 25 years of dedication. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and she enjoyed going out to dinner with her husband. She loved all of her family, especially her grandchildren and her special friend Jane, the cat.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Montgomery of Mount Cory; three children, Jerry (Carrie) Wieman of Rawson, Holly (Jeff Jarvis) Wieman of Shawnee, and Jina (Miah) Badertscher of Ada; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (John) Montgomery, Garrett (Adrienne) Wieman, Paige (Kyle) Wagner, Taylor (Bronson) Dennison, R.J. Edwards, Jillian (River) Schafer, and Brady Diehl; 7 great-grandchildren and two on the way; and a sister, Jill Snow.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Stacey; and three siblings, Jim Parker, Jack Parker and Jane Lynch.
Services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services-Bluffton with Pastor David Lanquist to officiate the service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family asks that those in attendance please wear jeans.
