Annual Senior Center garage sale spans March 30-April 3
CORRECTION: We left the hours out! The garage sale is 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Thursday-Friday and 9:00 a..m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
In the mood for a good garage sale? So far, Spring 2023 has only sent one true garage sale–the kind where you walk up the driveway and see what’s on hand–the Icon’s way.
However, this week from Thursday, March 30 to the morning of Monday, April 3, the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center will provide a great big, warm and dry garage sale indoors at 132 N. Main.
According to director Tonya Meyer, the sale is mostly donations from members of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association who are downsizing. There will be no clothing or shoes. Sometimes, Meyer notes, there are entire collections. Some out of the ordinary items this year are furniture and baby items. See below for a list of the kinds of items for sale.
The center has been collecting donations since last year’s garage sale. On Wednesday, the center will pause activities so that members can set up the sale, with activities resuming after tear down on Monday afternoon.
CONTINUES
The association currently has at least 650 members. The proceeds of the sale will support the operations of the center, going into the general fund and helping pay for things like property taxes, utilities, staff salaries and simply keeping the building open.
Sale items include:
- Bedding
- Craft supplies
- Exercise equipment
- Furniture
- Holiday decorations
- Kitchen and household items
- Music and movies
- Office equipment
- Puzzles
- Small appliances
- Small furnishings
- Tools
- Toys and baby items
- Vintage and antique items
