Frederic P. Andrews, 102, served in U.S. Army during WWII
Frederic P. Andrews, 102, passed away May 6, 2023, at his residence in Beaverdam.
Frederic was born September 27, 1920 in Bluffton, to Paul and Clara (Fett) Andrews who preceded him in death. He later married Orpha (Johnson) Andrews who preceded him in death on June 18, 2006.
He was a graduate of Beaverdam High School and a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. He retired from the Lima Telephone Company as an installation repairman. He was a proud Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Orioles, Eagles, VFW, American Legion, the Telephone Company Pioneers, and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, euchre, westerns and cowboy books and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by two children, Michael Andrews of Van Wert and Steven (Terri) Andrews of Lima; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Hauenstein; and four siblings Bob Andrews; Harold Andrews, Glen Andrews, and Janet Andrews.
Services will be held Friday May 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services -Bluffton with Rev. Jeremy Mann to officiate the service. Burial will be in Emmanuel Church Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Thursday, May 11, 2023, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
