Pirate volleyball sweeps Raiders

The red-hot Bluffton High School varsity volleyball team swept visiting non-league foe Wayne Trace Monday evening, September 11.
Bluffton triumphed 26-24, 25-13, 25-15 to extend their win streak to seven matches.
The Pirates improved to 9-2 after the win, while WT fell to 3-6 with the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse hammered 15 kills to pace the victorious attack.
Pirate junior Ayla Grandey contributed a dozen kills, served one ace and added a block.
Setter Gracie Yarnell passed out 26 assists and served one ace.
Morgan Fruchey came up with nine digs and one block.
Avery Talavinia hustled up a team-high 13 digs, while Vanessa Cross mustered eight digs and dealt one ace. Alivia Lambert added an ace.
Karlie Lora and Olivia Siferd each contributed one block.
The Bluffton junior varsity also won, 2-0.
The streaking Pirates visit local unbeaten league rival Allen East (5-0) Tuesday, Sept. 12 in the Northwest Conference opener.
