Rural Bluffton man to serve jail time for assault
In an October 24 article, The Lima News reported that a rural Bluffton man was sentenced for felonious assault following a May 14 incident in Putnam County. Derek Butcher pled no contest to the charges and received a 60-day jail sentence and five years probation.
The incident took place outside Miller’s Bar in Columbus Grove. Butcher was also ordered to pay $2,842 in restitution to the victim, who fell and broke her wrist.
