Martha Ellen Lemley was a Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary president
Martha "Marty" Ellen Lemley, 79, passed away October 24, 2023 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. Marty was born July 4, 1944 in Leipsic to the late Manford and Imo (Kagy) Varner. On November 13, 1971 she married James Lemley who survives.
Marty was a graduate of McComb High School. She was a homemaker and always worked outside the home at many small town businesses. Marty was a past member of the Pandora-Gilboa School Board and the Putnam County EMS. She was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton where she served on various committees. Marty volunteered at the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary where she had served as past-president. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her dear friends.
Survivors include her husband, James Lemley of Pandora; two sons, Stephen (Jill) Lemley of Bluffton, Jeremy (Christina) Lemley of Bluffton; four grandchildren, Eli and Abbie Lemley, Grace and Micah Lemley; a brother, Robert Varner of Waverly, Ohio and a special niece, Stacy (Mark) Morman of Ottawa.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Manford and Imo Varner; a grandson, Carter Lemley; two brothers, Gerald Sterrett, Harold Varner; and two sisters, Grace Arrington and Marianna Varner.
Marty's services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton with Pastor Jim King officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice or Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary.
