Frances F. Redick, 103, was the oldest resident of Bluffton
Frances F. Redick, 103, of Bluffton died 1:20 p.m. Jan. 29, 2011, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Sept. 17, 1907, in Bluffton to George Clifford and Trelia Sechler Stratton.
On Feb. 22, 1928 she married H.L. "Dick" Redick and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1975. Mrs. Redick retired from Westinghouse Corp., Lima. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, Order of the Eastern Star #380 formerly of Bluffton, a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College.
Survivors include two sons, Norman (Susie) Redick of Lima, Roger (Nancy) Redick of Westerville, eight grandchildren, Mark Redick, Jill (Jim) Bourdage, Matt (Lora) Redick, David Murphy, Lynda (Martin) Richardson, Judi (Mike) Prasse, Karen (John) Palmer, Richard (Heather) Redick, 14 great grandchildren, April and Tyler Redick, Erica, Alexa and Aaron Bourdage, Joel, Morgan and Maegan Redick, Nolan and Eric Richardson, Jessica, Stephanie and John Palmer, Tiffany Redick and a great great grandson, Jacob Palmer.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Trella Murphy Cox, three brothers, Donald, Rolland and Robert Stratton and a grandson Paul Redick.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Chaplain William Herr will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Rescue Mission. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
