How to schedule RSV vaccination for expecting mothers
Allen County Public Health encourages pregnant females to consider getting an RSV vaccination to protect their newborn's health after delivery. Receiving the vaccination at 32-36 weeks provides a boost of antibodies to the mother that is then passed to their unborn child. This provides passive immunity to the newborn during the vital first months of their lives when they are most vulnerable to severe RSV infections.
RSV is highly contagious and spreads through respiratory droplets. It can lead to serious complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia in infants, often resulting in hospitalization. To prevent the spread of RSV to newborns, Allen County Public Health encourages those who are pregnant to receive the RSV vaccination during their third trimester (32-36 weeks).
Pregnant females who are interested in receiving the RSV vaccination can schedule an appointment by calling Allen County Public Health at 419-228-4457 and asking to speak with a nurse.
You can also schedule an appointment at

and look for the “Book Now” button at the bottom of the Home Page. By getting vaccinated, new parents can contribute to a healthier start for their newborns and provide them with the best possible protection against respiratory infections.
