Angela Catherine Schroeder was a homemaker
Angela Catherine Schroeder, 93, passed away February 18, 2024, at the Meadows of Ottawa.
Angela was born January 12, 1931 in Delphos, to Oscar and Marcella (Rahrig) Hempfling who preceded her in death. On June 16, 1954 she married Melvin J. Schroeder who preceded her in death on January 15, 2008.
Angela was a homemaker and an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Bluffton. Angela was a deeply seated woman of faith; she attended St. Francis Convent in Tiffin before being called back to work at home; and was a member of the associates of St. Francis. She loved to crochet, enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, traveling, and crafts. She loved to give to everyone, dedicating a large portion of her time to charitable works associated with the church. She deeply adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her seven children, Ron (Dorothy) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Dennis (Lisa) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Gary (Pam) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Alan (Elaine) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Glen (Annette) Schroeder of Kalida, Tim Schroeder of Norfolk, VA, and Sue (Bud) Kistler of Cloverdale; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Velma Kill of Wapakoneta.
In addition, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Hempfling, Ralph Hempfling, Gerard Hempfling, and Alice Schroeder.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, February 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Bluffton with Father John Murray to officiate the service. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton.
