Pirate swimmer Bowlus 16th in freestyle B finals at state meet

CANTON__Bluffton sophomore Jackson Bowlus finished a solid 16th overall in the 50-yard freestyle competition out of 32 swimmers at the OHSAA state meet on Friday, Februry 23. He touched the wall eighth in the B Finals 50 freestyle race with a time of 22.36.
Eleven of the 16 A and B race finals in the 100 free were juniors or seniors, along with five sophomores. One soph made it to the A finals 50 free race.
In the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries on Thursday, Bowlus finished 18th of 32 with a time of 54.21. This made him one of two provisional alternates (17-18) in case of injury or illness for the final.
