Help sought in investigation of woman found dead in American Township
March 11, 20224 announcement from the Allen County Sheriff's Office
On March 10, 2024 at approximately 2:10 p.m. our office received a complaint regarding a female subject requiring medical care at the residence of 2982 Makley Dr. Lima, Ohio (American Township, Allen County).
The caller spoke limited English but upon deputies arrival they found a 26 year-old female lying unresponsive in bed within a bedroom. The female appeared deceased and American Township Fire Department arrived shortly thereafter and checked for signs of life but ultimately pronounced her deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene after deputies observed evidence that led them to suspect foul play. The Allen County Coroner’s Office and Ohio BCI&I arrived on scene to assist and the victim’s body was later transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Several individuals were brought to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning but have since been released with no charges filed at this time. The victim is not believed to be a citizen of the United States and detectives are currently working to identify next of kin.
If anyone has any information related to this crime they are being asked to contact Detective Rayl with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office at [email protected] or 419-227-3535. Anonymous tips can be made through Crime Stoppers at 419-229-STOP (7867).
