2023 Crop Values Summary
The preliminary farm value of Ohio field crops produced in 2023 was $7.32 billion, down 13 percent from 2022. The fall in total value in Ohio was due to lower prices of corn and soybeans.
Some Ohio highlights from the report follow:
- Corn for grain value was down 17 percent to $3.10 billion in 2023. The average price was 4.60 per bushel.
- Soybean value of $3.46 billion decreased 15 percent from 2022. The average price was $12.60 per bushel.
- All wheat value was up 16 percent to $335 million. The average price was $6.30 per bushel.
- Oat value decreased 27 percent to $4.16 million. The average price was $3.65 per bushel.
National highlights:
- U.S. corn for grain value decreased 17 percent to $73.9 billion in 2023.
- Soybean value in the U.S. was down 13 percent to $52.8 billion.
- U.S. all wheat value was down 10 percent to $12.7 billion.
