We should have listened to Tom and Anne Downey: Super Bowl contest winners
We should have listened to Tom and Anne Downey. Of the 92 entries in the Bluffton Icon super bowl contest, they predicted it correctly.
Entering separately, they were the only contestants to:
- Pick Green Bay to win
- Green Bay to score first (1st tie-breaker)
- Green Bay to lead at halftime, and (2nd tie-breaker)
- Green Bay to have the post penalties (3rd tie-breaker)
The winner of the contest came down to the third tie-breaker as Green Bay had 7 penalties for 67 yards; Pittsburgh had 6 for 55 yards.
Had Pittsburgh had the most penalties there would have been a massive tie in the contest.
The following contestants picked Green Bay to win, and in the first and second tie-breakers, but picked Pittsburgh to have the most penalties:
- Nathan Lamb
- Brad Smith
- Matt Amstutz
- Megan Morris
- Marvin Foster
- Kelli Burkholder
- Bob Angus
- Ryan Kruse
- Dan Smith
- Doug Warren
- Peggy Reichenbach
- Linda Garrett
- Eric Fulcomer
