Pirate volleyball sweeps Elida

ELIDA __ The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team decisively defeated non-league foe Elida in straight sets on Tuesday, August 27.
The Pirates downed Elida 25-15, 25-11, 25-15.
The sweep improved the Pirate record to 5-1 this season.
Ayla Grandey topped Bluffton with 13 kills.
Kendall Stackhouse knocked down seven kills, and Libby Hocanson added six kills. She also compiled two blocks and a pair of aces.
Gracie Yarnell passed out 25 assists and she fired two aces.
Karlie Lora contributed 13 digs, four aces and two blocks.
Avery Talavinia mustered a team-high 14 digs.
Gracie Warren added eight digs, and Kally Cotter came up with seven digs.
Vanessa Cross came up with nine digs and served two aces.
Bluffton also won the JV and freshman matches in 2-0 sweeps.
Bluffton hosts Defiance Ayersville (1-3) Thursday in a non-conference tilt.
