Pirate girls tennis shut out by Wapak

BLUFFTON __The Bluffton High School girls tennis team lost 5-0 to visiting Wapakoneta Wednesday evening.
Wapakoneta improved to 4-3 with the win.
Pirate Rory Youngpeter lost at first singles to Redskin Liberty Jolly in a very tight three-set battle 7-5, 5-7, 7-6.
Bluffton’s Brooklyn Moser fell at second singles to Wapak’s Kate Eley 6-1, 6-1.
At third singles, Hannah Nieman was defeated by Redskin Brooklyn Mowery 6-2, 6-0.
At first doubles, the Pirate duo of McCamery and Gatchel lost to Walters and Moser by a 6-0, 6-0 count.
At second doubles, the Bluffton tandem of Omlor and Klinger fell 6-2, 6-1 to the Wapak duo of Hume and Palmer.
Earlier in the season, Bluffton lost at home to Celina 4-1 on August 12, and they fell at Bath 3-2 on August 14.
St. John’s Jesuit won the Ottawa Hills tournament crown August 17.
Oregon Clay, Napoleon, host OH, Bluffton, Sylvania Southview and Toledo Central Catholic also competed at the event.
The scheduled Pirate match at home vs. Kenton August 15 was postponed.
Bluffton plays in the Elida Invitational September 7.
