Pirate cross country runs at 22-team O-G Invite

OTTAWA __ The Bluffton High School cross country teams competed at the 22-team Ottawa Blue and Gold Invitational Saturday morning, September 14.
Van Wert won the boys team title with 49 points. Bryan finished second with 74 points, followed by Defiance Tinora (103). Bath came in fourth with 123. Napoleon nosed out host Ottawa-Glandorf to win the girls team meet, 79-87. Kenton finished third with 120 points.
Ty Rosengarten of O-G won the boys race in a time of 15:43.2. O-G’s Anna Buddelmeyer won the girls race in a time of 18:31.2. Gwen Huddle of Napoleon finished a close second in 18:32.3.
BLUFFTON RESULTS
The Bluffton boys finished 18th out of 21 teams with 463 points. The Pirate girls finished 17th in the field of 22 squads, scoring 414 points.
Senior Levi Fenzl posted the top Pirate boys showing by crossing the finish line 17th in a time of 17:34.18.
