On Wednesday, September 25, Lt. Governor Husted presented Apollo Career Center with $1.1M in Career Technical Education funds through a grant collaboratively written with Ada Exempted Village Schools and Allen East Schools.
Mark Reed represented machine tool manufacturer GROB Systems, Inc. at the presentation. Reed is the apprentice training supervisor at GROB in Bluffton, which actively recruits high school students for its 4-year electrical and mechanical engineering apprenticeships that include a degree from Rhodes State College.
Ada Schools will use a portion of the grant to expand its Agribusiness & Production Systems program and to create a new Advanced Manufacturing Program. Additionally, the robotics program will be expanded in the 7th and 8th grade.
Grants were awarded to 34 schools in a second round of announcements for 2024. Some 6,330 students are impacted by this additional funding.
Additional information about the program can be found HERE.
