Kenneth L. Doty worked for M&R Plumbing and Heating
Kenneth L. Doty, 72, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2024 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Ken was born November 22, 1951 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Oren and Reva (Habegger) Doty. On October 25, 1975 he married Kathy Dilsaver Doty and she survives.
Ken graduated from Cory-Rawson High School where he was a member of the band and the FFA. He worked for Bower Plumbing and Heating in Rawson then worked for M & R Plumbing and Heating in Bluffton until his retirement in 2017. Ken had a special knowledge for all furnaces and was very respected by all of his customers. He was also a lifelong farmer and had been a volunteer firefighter for Mt. Cory Fire Department where he previously served as fire chief. Ken was a member of Pleasant View Church, Mt. Cory. He gave the gift of life by being a tissue donor.
Survivors include his wife Kathy Doty of Rawson; three children, Christopher Doty of Findlay, Cheryl Doty of Westerville, Charla (Jacob) Mayhew of Columbus; a sister, Marlene (Howard) Johnson of Springboro, Ohio; a brother, Don (Jane) Doty of Rawson and several nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Reva Doty and a niece.
Ken’s services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Pleasant View Church, Mt. Cory with Pastor Mike Noggle officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
