Ronald D. Suter was a nurse
Ronald D. Suter, 73, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on October 26, 2024. Ron was born June 19, 1951 in Bluffton to the late Russel and Jean (Diller) Suter. On April 4, 1969 he married the love of his life, Mary Beth (Bogart) Suter who survives.
Ron was a graduate of Bluffton High School and then received a degree in nursing from Lima Technical College and a bachelor's degree of Organizational Management from Bluffton College. Ron was a nurse in the emergency room at St. Rita's Hospital and retired as a psychiatric nurse from Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima. With a passion for history, Ron was always eager to learn something new and uncover stories from the past. Ron loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms and antiquing. Ron and Mary loved traveling and looking for their next antique or treasure and the story that went with it. He embraced life and finding joy in every moment with his wife and family. Ron was a loving and devoted husband of fifty-five years, was a wonderful caretaker to his wife and was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Pandora; four children, Margaret Amstutz of Bluffton, Lane (Teresa) Suter of Pandora, Luke (Mimi) Suter of Bowling Green, Jessica Hoehn of Bluffton; seven grandchildren, Olivia Amstutz, Elizabeth Suter, Kate Suter, Ruby Suter, William Suter, Gillian Suter, Amelia Hoehn and two sisters, Judy (Jerry Meluch) Burkholder of Columbus and Jenetha (Dana) Lugibihl of Florida.
A visitation celebrating Ron's life for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral Services - Bluffton. A private service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
