Multi-agency active shooter drill to be held at Apollo
The Shawnee Township Police and Fire Departments, in partnership with Apollo Career Center and Allen County EMA, will conduct a multi-agency, full-scale active shooter training drill on Monday, November 25, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
This drill will be for staff only. The high school is not in session, and there will be no high school students on campus.
The training exercise will focus on emergency response to an active shooter incident on campus and is being staged by Shawnee Township in collaboration with local emergency responders. It will involve a simulation of the law enforcement response plan to an active shooter and will help assure a coordinated, timely and effective response and recovery in the event of a major incident. There will be significant law enforcement on campus during the exercise.
In order to avoid any confusion, the public is being notified ahead of time. The exercise is closed to the general public.
