Joyce E. Pugsley was a nursing assistant
Joyce E. Pugsley, 74, passed away March 18, 2025 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. Joyce was born March 28, 1950 in Lima to the late Leonard and Janice (Smith) Klausing. On January 29, 1972 she married David Pugsley who preceded her in death on December 30, 2017.
Joyce worked as a certified nursing assistant at Lockhaven Nursing Home, Lima and Otterbein, Cridersville. She also worked for Chase Bank as a private at-home nurse. Joyce attended Calvary Temple Assembly of God, Lima and Tri-County Assembly of God, Bluffton. She was active with the Lima Garden Club and the Town and Country Quilt Club. Joyce and her husband enjoyed taking rides to Indian Lake, fishing and being outdoors. She was also a fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Ohio State Buckeyes and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include three sons, Ret. Msg. James L. (Julia) Pugsley of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Christopher M. (Rachael) Pugsley of Lima, Todd (Randi) Pugsley of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Capt. Dylan (Amanda) Pugsley of Fountain, Colorado, Ariel Pugsley of Clarksville, Tennessee, Leilani Pugsley of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Morgan (Raghu) Kasthuri of Dublin, Ohio, Ellison (Trent) Steele of Columbus, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, James, Georgia, Luna, Sid, Leo and Caspian; two sisters, Theresa Kreutzer of San Diego, California, Dody (Todd) Whittington of Olla, Louisiana; a step-brother, Bill (Yolanda) Ogle, Jr. of Ramona, California and a step-sister, Terry Cruz of Poway, California.
Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Christian J. Pugsley; a brother, Michael Klausing and a sister, Mary Siniff.
Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel with Pastor Todd Whittington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
