Bluffton Farmers Market opens spring season on May 3
By Paula Pyzik Scott
The Bluffton Farmers Market is approaching the start of its summer season, which runs from the first Saturday in May through the last Saturday in October. Market manager Greg Probst recently held a meeting with prospective vendors and provided the attached vendor agreement.
The venue for vendors of locally grown produce and cottage foods is located in the Citizens National Bank parking lot at 102 S. Main. Market rules and regulations specify that the market is limited to “fresh, high-quality fruits, vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, bedding plants, potted plants, and other agricultural products.” It also specifies that “All home-produced products (jams, jellies, baked goods, etc.) must comply with all State of Ohio cottage foods rules.”
Vendors are offered space on a full season or weekly basis. The deadline for full season agreements is April 14. A full year costs $270. Weekly registration is $15.00. Vendors are required to provide a certificate of insurance and hold any applicable licenses.
The Bluffton Farmers Market is a program of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce. The market’s winter season ended in March and was held at the Bluffton Senior Center.
