Pirate girls tennis edged by Spartans

LIMA – The Bluffton High School girls tennis team lost a 3-2 nailbiter at Lima Senior on the Collett Street courts on Monday, August 18.
The close defeat dropped the Bluffton record to 1-4 this season.
The Bluffton second doubles duo of sophomores Leah Hoffman and Peighton Bowers won 6-1, 6-0 to improve their season record to 4-1.
Bluffton’s senior first doubles duo of Claire Blackburn and Maizie Digby won by a 6-2, 6-1 count.
Bluffton swept the doubles matches but lost all three singles bouts.
Junior Kate Klinger lost 6-3, 6-0 at first singles.
Junior Ari Bowling dropped a three-set battle at second singles 4-6, 6-1, and 12-10 in a tiebreaker.
Pirate Bekah Rehm was defeated in a tough 7-5, 6-4 bout at third singles.
