Pirate golfers edged in tight NWC tri

BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys golf team competed in an incredibly close Northwest Conference triangular match at the Bluffton Golf Course on Tuesday, September 2.
League-leading Lincolnview posted a team score of 172 to edge Allen East (173) by one stroke, and nip Bluffton (174) by two shots as well.
AE’s Brady Brooks was match medalist with a round of 37.
Bluffton fell to 9-7 and 4-4 in NWC play with the close losses.
The first-place Lancers improved to 13-1 overall and 7-1 in the NWC after winning the taut tri-match.
Allen East is 6-2 overall and 6-2 in the NWC after the split.
At Bellevue last Saturday, Bluffton recorded a 347 team score in a dual match defeat.
Grady Coonfare led the team with an 18-hole round of 79.
Pirate Ethan Fifer was second with a round of 86. Coby Dailey carded a round of 90, while Nick Lovett was the fourth scorer at 92.
Gibson Meyer added a score of 100.
The Pirates host former league rival Ada on Wednesday and entertain NWC foe Spencerville on Thursday, both at the Bluffton Golf Course.
