Pirate volleyball sweeps Elmwood

BLOOMDALE__The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team swept Elmwood in a non-league match on Thursday, September 4.
The Pirate girls improved to 5-3 with the 25-21, 25-4, 25-19 win. The Royals fell to 3-3 with the loss.
Kendall Stackhouse led the victor’s balanced hitting attack with 11 kills. Libby Hocanson and Camryn Fruchey knocked down seven kills apiece.
Karlie Lora hit for six kills, and Lainey Grandey added five.
Adelyn Althaus passed out 16 assists, while Fruchey doled out 15 helpers.
Vanessa Cross came up with 17 digs, while Fruchey mustered 10 digs.
Fruchey served six aces, and Stackhouse added three aces.
Karlie Lora came up with four blocks, while Fruchey made two blocks.
The Bluffton JV and freshmen teams also both won 2-0.
Bluffton hosts Wayne Trace (0-4) on Monday, Sept. 8.
